This project aims to develop a user interface to define small nanographene molecules and to compute simple chemical and physical properties based on a tight-binding description. The technical challenge is to port already developed free software in linux/python/numpy to the android platform.The goal is two-fold:(i) to make an app that can actually make useful predictions for simple structures, and (ii) to provide an educative platform where the user can play around and learn about the electronic structure of nanographenes.
The app could possibly also gamify the topic by challenging users to optimize structures to achieve certain properties etc. For this project we seek candidates with a proven track record in android app development.
